| Heavy burgundy velveteen gown, the bodice lined in a cream & white rococo cotton drapery fabric, and the skirt and sleeves lined in a scrolling floral print burgundy & cream cotton/linen drapery fabric. Inspired by 11th, 12th and 14th century styles, cut with a flat single piece front like tudor dresses, and a slim skirt front and sloping sleeve caps like modern pattern cuts. It has 19 pairs fo lacing holes, and a square topped flare in the back. All the edges are hand sewn. It uses just over 8 meters of gorgeous deep red velvet, and was my first major project. A great joy to make. |
